Greetings, and thanks for visiting the Mandayla gallery.
Over the last couple of years, I have become enamored with mandalas, for a couple of reasons. To me, it’s the ideal format for creating a miniature world rich in color, shapes, lines and symbols, built around a central theme or subject. With mandalas, it’s also possible to easily unify seemingly disparate symbols and concepts. I liken them to a patchwork quilt.
I am also fascinated by the perfection of the circle. Judging by their overabundance in our world, nature is clearly crazy about them, too. They are omnipresent and inescapable. Once I became hooked on them, I started seeing them everywhere.
The mandalas I have included on this site range from abstract, which are closer to a traditional mandala. Others are focused on some of my favorite animals, natural elements, people, characters or spiritual beings.
I hope you enjoy this celebration of circles!
Have a happy mandayla!
